KISS: Keep It Simple, Stupid
KISS: Keep It Simple, Stupid
I’m a solo biz tech consultant who sells software advice and training to technology adverse small business owners with no time to learn yet another new software package. So it may seem counterintuitive when I tell you that I am a Windows Notepad junkie. That’s right, you heard me, I LOVE NOTEPAD! It’s a simple, lightweight with a very shallow, almost nonexistent learning curve. Notepad is simplicity itself. It says what it does, and it does what it says. It’s the perfect note taking app for anyone creating quick notes for personal consumption.
But my attachment to Notepad goes even further. I always keep four or five open Notepads on my laptop. I use them for collecting links, tracking password updates, logging my work, jotting down ideas, and I even use Notepad to write my blog post draft (like this one).
So, while there is a time and place for the more complex packages like OneNote, or Notions, Google Keep, for the everyday note taking needs of most of us, Notepad wins everytime.
